# Installation

> Install the Monime GiveWP integration and prepare GiveWP.

## Installation Steps

You can install the Monime WordPress plugin by uploading the zip file directly to your WordPress admin dashboard.

### 1. Download the Plugin

Download the latest version of the plugin from the [main WordPress overview](../overview).

### 2. Upload to WordPress

1. Log in to your WordPress Admin Dashboard (for example, `your-site.com/wp-admin`).
2. Navigate to **Plugins > Add New**.
3. Click the **Upload Plugin** button at the top of the screen.
4. Click **Choose File** and select the ZIP file you downloaded from the main overview.
5. Click **Install Now**.

### 3. Activate the Plugin

1. Once the installation is complete, click **Activate Plugin**.
2. You should now see **Monime Gateway** listed on your plugins page.

### 4. Install GiveWP

1. Install and activate **GiveWP** if it is not already available on your site.
2. Confirm that the GiveWP admin menus and donation form settings are visible.

### 5. Verify Installation

1. Go to the Monime settings page in WordPress admin.
2. Confirm that the main Monime credentials are saved.
3. Open the GiveWP payment gateway settings.
4. Confirm that **Monime** appears as an available gateway.
5. Open a test donation form and verify that Monime is selectable at checkout.

If Monime does not appear, usually one of three things is missing:

* the Monime Gateway plugin is inactive,
* GiveWP is inactive,
* or the shared Monime credentials have not been saved yet.

## Updates

To update the plugin in the future:

1. Download the new version from the [main WordPress overview](../overview).
2. Go to **Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin**.
3. Upload the new zip file.
4. WordPress will ask if you want to replace the existing version. Click **Replace current with uploaded**.
