# Dash Dots (/docs/products/dash-dots)

**Dash** is Monime's app for sending and receiving money in Sierra Leone. A **dot** is a small app that lives inside it, like a school's fees page or a cookshop's menu. Your customers open yours from the **Dots** tab, with nothing new to download.

Payments come with every dot. Customers pay in Dash's payment sheet, the way they always do: from a linked account, by card or with mobile money. The money goes to your **Space**, your business's account on Monime.

> **Dots are in beta:** Dash updates won't break a dot you build during the beta. Talk to Monime before you set a launch date.

## Why build a dot

- **Paid from day one**

  There's no payment provider to sign up with or connect.

- **Where your customers are**

  People find you in the Dots tab and can share your dot with a link.

- **Android and iOS**

  One dot works on both, with nothing extra to build.

- **Updates without an app store**

  You release new versions yourself, with no app store in between.

## How it works

Your dot belongs to your business's Space, not to the developers who build it. You add developers to the Space and remove them when they leave.

Your own records live on your business's server, and your dot talks to it. [What's up to you](/docs/products/dash-dots/trust-and-privacy#whats-up-to-you) says what belongs there.

## What a customer sees

1. **They find it**

   They find it in the Dots tab, or open a link a friend sent. See [How customers find dots](/docs/products/dash-dots/how-customers-find-dots).

2. **It opens inside Dash**

   Your dot's name shows at the top.

3. **Dash asks before sharing anything**

   If your dot needs the camera or their contacts, Dash asks first and shows them your reason.

4. **They pay**

   They pay the same way they do anywhere in Dash.

5. **They leave**

   The back button returns them to Dash.

Every dot also gets [a menu](/docs/products/dash-dots/how-customers-find-dots#the-dots-menu) at the top, where customers can share it or send you feedback.
