**Is now a good time to build a dot?**

Yes. Read [what the beta means](/docs/products/dash-dots) before you set a launch date.

**Do customers have to install it?**

No. They open it from the Dots tab in Dash, on Android or iOS.

**Who owns my dot?**

Your business does, through its [Space](/docs/products/dash-dots#how-it-works).

**Can it look like my brand?**

Yes. Your dot can use your brand colors, the phone's fonts, your own corner shape and your own icons, and it shows your dot's name at the top. Buttons and forms still work the way they do in the rest of Dash.

**Can it take payments?**

Yes. Customers pay in Dash's payment sheet, and the money goes to your Space. Your developers can choose which ways to pay you accept. See [Take payments](/docs/products/dash-dots/developers/payments).

**Can customers share my dot?**

Yes, with a [share link](/docs/products/dash-dots/how-customers-find-dots#share-links) from the dot's menu.

**How do I update it?**

Your developers publish a new version and release it once it [passes review](/docs/products/dash-dots/listing-and-review#how-a-version-goes-live). Customers get it without updating Dash, as [Updating your dot](/docs/products/dash-dots/launching-a-dot#updating-your-dot) explains.

**Does it work offline?**

Partly. It can show what it saved on the phone, like a ticket, even with no signal. Anything from your server needs a connection.

**Who can build a dot?**

Developers who know TypeScript, once you add them to your Space. Send them the [developer guide](/docs/products/dash-dots/developers).
